Questions and answers
How much dry ice do I need for one day?
The machine consumes 20 kg to 120 kg per hour; as a rule you blast approx. 50 kg (±) per hour. You should calculate with 300 kg per day.
Do I need personal protective equipment (PPE)?
Of course: at least gloves, protective suit, face protection (goggles) and a dust or filter mask. Additional equipment should be added depending on the work.
Can I dry ice blast in a basement?
That depends on many factors, e.g. the exhaust air and ventilation of the room. Additional equipment would be e.g. an extraction system (air) and a CO₂ measuring device.
Can I strip paint from an old wooden staircase?
As a rule this does not work. For this you should use a low-pressure sandblasting machine operated with blasting slag – you can find it in our rental fleet.
How far can the compressor be from the dry ice blasting machine?
10 to 100 metres – please specify when ordering.
Can I strip paint from a car, for example?
No, dry ice is not abrasive – which means you can even clean windows with it without frosting them. However, we also have dry ice machines (purchase only) that blast with dry ice and glass beads – with these you can strip paint and also remove rust.
