Mobile high-pressure compressors – a dedicated drilling solution
With Atlas Copco's DrillAir compressors you have all the functions you need to drill faster and increase your profitability. Efficient drilling requires the right equipment matched to the specific project. With the DrillAir range you choose the compressor that is perfectly tailored to your core business – with the flexibility to adapt to any customer-specific application.
Higher performance with Dynamic Flow Boost
This technology provides an additional 10 % air flow during special operations such as flushing and refilling the drill string. This shortens the total time of a drilling project and contributes to higher productivity and lower operating costs.
More versatility with the extended pressure range (XPR)
The patented XPR technology allows the working pressure to be adjusted downwards. The wide pressure range prevents cavitation in the ground during overburden drilling and enables deeper and faster drilling. The same compressor can thus be used for several tasks.
AirXpert – performance management system
The intelligent system optimises compressor performance by adjusting parameters based on real-time data. You set the flow or pressure – your compressor automatically adjusts the other parameters.
Intelligent control with a user-friendly interface
The controller gives you full control while being intuitive to operate. Continuous monitoring of critical parameters enables proactive maintenance, reduces downtime and extends service life – including remote monitoring and control.
Typical industries and applications of the DrillAir X28
Oil and gas industry: deep drilling for oil and gas production, onshore and offshore. The high working pressure enables deeper and faster drilling; the high air flow improves flushing and extends tool life.
Geothermal drilling: boreholes several hundred metres deep – with the flexibility to adapt to complex geologies.
Water well drilling: reliably great drilling depths, even on remote sites where reliability and fuel efficiency are crucial.
Mining: exploration and blast-hole drilling; several drilling rigs can be operated simultaneously – minimal downtime.
Tunnelling and construction: drilling in hard rock, supplying rock drills and chisels, advanced cooling technology for extreme temperatures.
Pipeline and infrastructure construction: pressure tests, pipe cleaning and drilling – several tools in parallel.
Blast-hole drilling, geotechnics and soil investigations, offshore projects: precision, adaptability and robust construction – plus FleetLink remote monitoring.
